American artist and inventor of the Mobile design has been honoured by Google today on their main homepage logo. The artist from Pennsylvania moved to New York as a way of pursuing his love for art. From there, Calder has lived in California, Paris and other locations. The artist, who died 1976, was honoured the Presidential Medal of Freedom and was honoured with a room at the National Gallery of Art in the US capital of Washington, D.C.

As for the logo, when you click and drag the Mobile, the pieces of the art move around on the screen. However, this logo has been considered dangerous to some browsers. Some Internet Explorer users have experienced crashes from interacting with the logo. But this may be due to the new system used to make the logo. This is the first time Google used HTML5 Canvas for logos. It looks like they have a few features to work out next time they use it.
